SRI LANKA – Computer Training
Our project in Sri Lanka is based in a small isolated village amidst the tea planation of the hill country. Remarkably, in view of the countries recent history, the village is home to Sinhalese, Tamil, Muslim and Christian families living in harmony. In all there are some 450 families living here and just two people have jobs, both with the government, the rest of the village get by as best they can. There is a village school here and a local church helps with meals and free tuition for the children. We have supplied the village elders with a number of computers so that the children of the village may be computer literate and have a better chance of making their way in the world beyond their village.
